2011 in Review & 2012 Looking Forward

While I’m still trying to find the time to go through my hundreds (it’s been confirmed, it’s hundreds) of pictures from the holidays to make you all an epic Italian Holiday celebration montage, I wanted to leave you with a few thoughts on New Years, inspired by the decor8 post “End of Year Ritual: List Your Accomplishments Here” about my accomplishments of 2011 and my goals of 2012.  I figure this will let you all know a little bit more about me, and it can’t hurt that I will know have dozens of people holding me accountable for my 2012 goals, right?

2011 Accomplishments

  • Graduated with my BS in Architectural Engineering
  • Accepted a job offer with a great company before even graduating
  • Started my blog
  • Started taking pictures again (I want to get my title back of “that girl” with the camera)
  • Invited my parents to “my place”
  • Held a child under 2 months old (this was a big deal)
  • Threw my 9th Annual Christmas party
  • Arranged Big Spender for the ladies of Naturally Sharp

2012 Goals

  • Take a hip hop dance class
  • Increase blogging readership
  • Be healthy (this MAY mean running, but if that fails miserably, I at least want to know that I’m eating healthier than I had been)
  • Make more decisions based on ME and what I want
  • Finish reading through the posts of the Blogging Your Way class that I took in November (my job took over my life in November, that was a fail)
  • Invite my cousins and/or aunts to come visit me
  • Attend a blogging conference
  • Sing karaoke
  • Vacation out of the country (possibly Spain?)
  • Create at least one video-blog-post
  • Make homemade manicotti
  • Attend the National Stationery Show in New York City in May
  • Visit more tag sales
  • See at least one more Broadway show

  • Well done on your achievements for 2011 and I love your goals for 2012 -It would be great to go to a blogging conference, I’m jealous you can get to a Broadway show and I hope the hip hop dancing and karaoke are fun, fun, fun.

Thanks!! Definitely can’t wait to see what 2012 has in store!

  • Oh yes go to Spain.. it is beautiful.
Which Broadway shows have you seen? For a great grand musical Wicked is divine. For laugh till you pee fun Avenue Q is a hilarious surprise.

I need to try to increase blogger readership too.. what also love it if someone would sign up for my mailing list.. Here’s to 2012.

I’ve tried to compile a list – and I’ve even attempted to sort it with my favorites first: Memphis, Phantom of the Opera, Wicked (which you’re right, was SO good), Rent, Hairspray, Spring Awakening, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Billy Elliot, Promises Promises, Come Fly Away, The Sound of Music, A Little Night Music, A Chorus Line, Young Frankenstein, Hair, Cats… and then a bunch of others that I’ve seen in Pennsylvania or Connecticut. I’m an addict? Eh, I think it’s official, I’m an addict. I will definitely keep Avenue Q in mind for the future, I’ve heard great things about it!!

With your awesome photographs and your adorable son, how could I not sign up for readership? Here’s to 2012, let the blogging begin!!

  • Happy new year! I love reading year-end reviews and new year lists — they are always so inspiring 🙂 Congratulations on your 2011 accomplishments! 🙂 You have such an interesting set of things to do for the new year — I love that bit about attending the National Stationery Show, we don’t have those kinds of events here. And yes, I wholeheartedly support you on making more decisions about what you want. That’s something I have put off for years and it is only now I am beginning to really do it and it is so rewarding. It is not being selfish but actually being true to who you are and in the process becoming a better person. Go for it! 🙂

I found out how much I love reading lists like this today when I sat and read through approximately 100 of them on the decor8 blog – it was pretty awesome, and I felt so warm and fuzzy inside thinking about how happy I was for everybody with all of their accomplishments! Can’t wait to see what’s in store for your store in 2012! I’ll be sure to report back on the National Stationery Show, etc, etc if I learn anything mind-blowing. That’s what blogs are for, right? Happy 2012!!
