Speaking of pop up cards. A few weeks ago, my friend Marie and I made Jai a “thinking of you” card. I remembered a GREAT blog post that I saw on Kelly’s website, Lovin’ The Life I Color, with an AMAZING pop up card. I decided that I wanted to try this. Kelly actually e-mailed me a You Tube video explaining how to make the card, and it turned out to be easier than I expected.
Of course, nothing ever STAYS easy. We had the great idea to make a vase of flowers. Then I had a great idea to make the flowers out of cardboard. Then before we knew it, the card was too heavy to actually stand up!! So clearly, the first time in card-making history that my engineering degree has come into play, we engineered the card to work properly.
I highly recommend trying to make this card once – it was so much easier than I expected it to be, and it DEFINITELY has a WOW effect.
