After reading Elise Blaha’s post tips for fun “everyday” photos last night, I decided it would be a cool idea to have a day in the life of Chrystina. (I have absolutely LOVED reading Elise’s blog lately, she’s so inspirational and crafty. An awesome combination.) I tried to take pictures of random things throughout the course of my day – but really it all culminated in the Baton Rouge Wednesdays Food Truck Wround Up where I took about 20 pictures. (Best dinner I’ve had here yet, I think.)
I tried to use some of the tips that I read in her post last night such as: getting on the right level, focusing on the details, shooting from above, cutting from the frame, not giving up on reflection shots, using natural light, and getting the big picture. Alright, so it looks like the only one that I missed for the day was “using the timer”. I only had my iPhone though, so that’s how it happened. And yes, I could have waited until I got home and got my nice camera to do this, but why push motivation and excitement to a later date? Use it while you got it.
Take a look at my day:

Loved it. Felt I was travelling there with you for the day. Gosh those food vans are well set up! Why did your smoothie (or whatever it was) have a wooden spoon over the top?
It was actually a lemon ice cream soda float with homemade vanilla ice cream and a honey cookie shaped like a spoon on top. How epic is that?
Very epic. How funny I was on your blog at the same time you were on mine.
Agreed. Only difference is that it’s 11:21pm here :)
Love ur photos, so many memories of my time there – pjs , gaurav outside jfo smoking , the drives from NOLA!
Hahaha, I love how Gaurav smoking outside the JFO made the list. It’s true. This is pretty much the story about how over at least 100 of us have lived our lives for at least some time. Strange.
I love this day-in-the-life post :) Will probably try this on a day when I don’t have much to say or I’m simply feeling lazy to write long sentences :D Although I do believe I’ve tried doing this once and halfway through the day I forgot I was doing it and only had photos of the whole morning but nothing else :D Those food shots got me hungry! :D
