So. Yes, my birthday was December 30. Yes, my birthday PARTY was January 28th. And YES, it is now April. However, I didn’t get around to writing thank you notes until March… better late than never right?
I decided to pull a classic Chrystina and go with the Post Card approach. Put some pictures of the party on one side, write a message on half of the other side AND you only have to pay for a postcard stamp (which is now 33 cents, thank you, America). I didn’t have any pictures from the event though, so I decided to try something different. Johanna brought a dessert to this party that we ended up calling “crack”. It was SO good. It’s sort of caramel meets chocolate meets matzo… and it’s bite-sized.
I hope you appreciate that I used my blog background as the background of this card. The colors are just too good to pass up.
Also, I’ve only got one comment so far from a friend that somebody that they lived with was slightly confused that they got a recipe for crack in the mail (that seemed to be more like toffee).
When’s the last time you sent somebody a postcard?

You are so interesting.
Oh my goodness! You just inspired me with an idea with that recipe on a postcard! :) One of my resolutions (as part of my life overhaul) is to be more “reaching out” to my friends, especially since I really only have a selected precious few (I am a strongly introverted person and active socializing is not one of my best skills). The few friends I have though are the kinds you keep around for the rest of your life. So I wanted to reach out to them and I have come up with the idea of also reviving the romance of snail mail – instead of emails and FB posts and e-cards I plan to send handwritten notes, postcards, letters, and even handmade little gifts. This idea of yours of a recipe in a postcard is a great one to send to my friends who cook. On a regular day I could have a recipe for a seasonal vegetable or fruit to take advantage of the inexpensive and plentiful supply :)
Thanks for sharing this! :)
Yayyy!! I love inspiring people. I have a tendency to send my friends random things in the mail a few times a year. For instance, I’ll make them all bags of Halloween candy, or I’ll send them pot holders with hearts on it for Valentine’s Day. Then I have a chance to make them cards too!! I think they think I’m crazy sometimes lol
