I have a confession. I have a fear of getting in “make your own salad” lines. Specifically the ones that do not have any options for pre-made salads. I don’t like all the options. What if I mix two things that don’t go together? What if I forget my favorite ingredient under pressure? If I don’t like it, it’s all my fault. And there are so many options!! It clouds my brain. It’s stressful. So stressful.
One of my coworkers asked me, “does it really scare you that much?”
I mean, it doesn’t scare me more than dancing in the center of a dance circle.
Or as much as paperwork for a mortgage.
But it scares me enough to get the pizza instead.
And salad is my favorite food.
Yes, I understand how un-rational all of this is.
I never said it had to make sense.
Anyway! I found my solution! I made myself a printable of basic types of salads, types of ingredients that go in them, and if there is a specific type of dressing or green that you’re supposed to use. I’m hoping that this makes my lunch break a little bit less stressful.
Now the only thing I have to worry about is checking to see if they have all the ingredients before I get to the front of the line….

Also, yes, I realize un-rational isn’t a word.
Does anybody else have any fears about the salad line, or is it just me?
