Remember in an earlier post that I told you that I ALWAYS buy something when I go into West Elm. Well, I also almost ALWAYS buy something when I go into Marshalls or TJMaxx. And it’s usually from the homegoods section. This time I fell in love with three mugs.
My mother asked why I wouldn’t want matching mugs. Well, there’s a few reasons. If one breaks, it doesn’t matter. You get to decide exactly what kind of mood you’re in when you have tea. You get to pick the shape – sometimes you want a mug with a large mouth because then you can fit more whipped cream on top for hot chocolate and sometimes you want a small mouth for… I don’t know, variety? Alright, who can come up with a reason that somebody would want a mug with a small mouth?
Here are three new ones to add to my collection.

I am planning a post about my ever growing collection of teacups, I hadn’t thought about showing my eclectic mug collection……….haha xx *Note to Lucy* Stop stealing other peoples ideas! ;p
Pshh. Totally allowed. Besides, maybe I’ll be inspired to buy more mugs from looking at your mug collection. Which is always good for me. And bad for my wallet ::shrug::
P.S Totally want the owl one in the middle ;o) xx
perhaps you’d choose a mug with a small mouth when you want a spot of tea… or maybe you’re having really spicy aztec hot chocolate
I love collecting mugs, but only the fun and thoughtful ones, not just when I go to the store and see one. I always ask my relatives and my boyfriend to take home a mug if they travel, now having both one from France, Holland and Spain! I have loads more, though, but I love the mugs with memories the most!
I definitely like this idea – collecting mugs from everywhere you go. The real challenge is getting them back without breaking them :)
I used to collect mugs but at some point I sold or gave them away as gifts whenever we moved houses or needed some extra cash. But now I’m sort of feeling like starting all over again with very selected pieces and focused on a theme (and in that theme, ALL of your new mugs would qualify, most especially the OWL mug which I absolutely adore!). I can relate very well to having unique pieces instead of sets — and exactly for the same reasons you stated! I also like serving guests with mugs that match their personality or character – or even observe which mug they pick!
As for mug with small mouth – if you want your hot drinks to keep warm longer I guess. :D
Reason for a small mouth mug – keeps tea or coffee hotter longer, let me know where I can buy one
TJMaxx or the Christmas Tree Shoppe or Marshalls or Home Goods or probably even a Target/Walmart… thanks for stopping by!!
