Welcome to day one of Hosting a Party week! (I’m pretty gosh darn excited.)
Now, if you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you probably won’t be surprised that the typical “toga party” is not in my repertoire. I found a way to do this one with my own style. What’s the first thing that comes to mind when I think of togas? Ancient Greece. What’s the first thing I think of when I think of Ancient Greece. Hercules!! (Who put the glad in gladiator, HER-CU-LES!)
It’s beginning to all make sense, right? There were 8 of us, and we all wore togas. I made a pot of spiced cider and we sat down and watched Hercules, one of my favorite Disney movies of all time.
Yes, I realize wearing all of the clothes underneath SEEMS like it was cheating. But it was October. It gets cold in the northeast in October.
What’s the moral of this story? Take a theme and do it your own way. Whatever comes to mind first, whatever you love, roll with that theme – and I’m sure you can find some friends to jump on the band wagon.
Stay tuned tomorrow for How to Host a Murder Mystery Party!!
