It officially took me a full week to recover from last last weekend (October 5-7), that’s why I’ve been so MIA. It was one of those “live life to the fullest and blog about it later” weekends. So now that I am fully recovered, I want to share with you an awesome way to spend a weekend in Philadelphia. I will warn you that it cost me $400 – and I wasn’t the most expensive of the bunch, but every once in a while, it’s kind of fun to take a mini vacation in your own city.
Breakfast sandwich from a food cart.
Eat it in front of the Philadelphia Art Museum.
Drive to London Grill and have your first drink around noon.
Drive to the Graduate Hospital area to get lunch. We went to Ten Stone.
Go to Bonte to get a waffle.
Head to Frankford Hall in Northern Liberties – an awesome beer garden.
Go see the Philadelphia Orchestra perform West Side Story.
(Everybody else went to Franklin Mortgage.)
Stay in midtown and hit Sampan for dinner.
Go to G Lounge to dance stay until close at 2am.
Go to Whisper because it’s open until 3am.
Fall asleep on someone else’s couch.
Go to your local cafe for breakfast.
Walk to Nomad pizza for lunch.
Check out South Street.
Hit the Midtown Festival (and be overwhelmed by crowds).
Go to Capogiro for gelato.
Leave the crowds and go to Alma de Cuba for mojitos.
Take a nap.
Meet up with everybody again at Talula’s Garden.
Make friends with the bartender.
Invite the bartender out for drinks with you later.
Go to Silk City to hear some old school hip hop.
Stay until close at 2am.
Wake up to go to church.
Meet up with your friends at Kanela for brunch.
Do some work.
Go to Raddichio Cafe for dinner. Don’t forget the wine.
Stop at somebody’s house for homemade masala chai.
Wake up to catch your 6:30am flight.
