I was browsing Facebook today because I was looking for a picture from high school. Granted, this was kind of silly considering when I was in high school you actually needed to have a college email address to have a Facebook account, but you never know. As I was browsing through the pictures, I developed a concept for this post. Welcome to “these moments really happened”.

That time Kristine painted an entire picture on my leg

This was during a party at Kristine’s house where all of Kristine’s friends got to paint something cool on the basement walls. It’s a pretty cool concept, and both Kristine’s older brother and sister got to do it with their friends years earlier.

That time we decorated a cake with every color sprinkle we could find

We also ate penne alla vodka that night. It might have been one of the last nights we were all together before college. Loved this cake.

That time it was really cold outside

I have no excuse for this. I promise think I’ve gotten classier.

That time I got a group of boys to make gingerbread houses with me

This is a picture from when I was an RA. It was so easy to get people out of their rooms, we had a great kitchen area to hang out in, and everybody was comfortable with themselves because they were upperclassmen. We made gingerbread houses and it was awesome. I miss this hall.

That time we broke the bed

This was in high school. I think we broke the bed frame. I wish I could remember why we thought a blow dryer was going to fix this situation. Anybody who has answers, please leave them in the comments below.

That time I went blonde

This was not my best hair decision, but sometimes I still consider doing it again. Please note, this was before I dyed my eyebrows a little bit lighter – which I realized was a must. By the way, this is Kristine, the girl who painted the picture on my leg.

That time we let our residents throw pies at us

You do strange things when you’re an RA. #enoughsaid

That time I had a moose in the woods

Do you see this face? Do you know how often I make this face. At least once a week – more when tired, less when well fed. Let me tell you all about having a moose. I was in 9th grade, I was dating a boy named Kevin, it was Fourth of July. I really wanted to kiss him, really really I did. I just couldn’t. I was too nervous. (In 8th grade a boy told me I was a bad kisser – which I later found out he said because he was mad I broke up with him.) He ended up leaving the party early. I was so mad at myself, I was frustrated, I was head over heals, I was tired, I was with all of my friends, and somebody said something funny. I don’t even remember what it was. The laughter turned to hysteric laughing gas tears. That moment when you are just so full of emotion that you need to let it all out somehow. Well, my friends didn’t know what to do with me. I was sitting on the ground – in a position that looked like I was giving birth. My legs were propped, I was crying, breathing heavily, kind of squealing, and couldn’t get a coherent thought out. The only thing my friends could think to do was shove a stuffed moose up my shirt and slowly pull it out and yell – “you had a moose!!”. Since then, this is called having a moose. I dated a boy once who decided that medium moose are raccoons and small moose are chipmunks. What brought this moose on? I was driving to a cabin in the middle of the woods in Vermont for my friend Aubrey’s bachelorette party (long story) – and what I didn’t realize is they literally meant the middle of the woods – like there was tall grass on every side of my vehicle. I was off roading in a Prius. I also hadn’t slept the night before and was getting over a fever. Hopefully you understand now. Please leave all questions and comments below.

That time we ran through the fountains

This was the same trip where we broke the bed. We were in Pittsburgh with the Sisters (Catholic school summer volunteer trip) – and we were touring the city. We kept passing these awesome fountains that shot out of the ground. I kept asking Sister Kathleen if we could run through it – she kept telling me know. Right before we were about to drive home, she pulled up in front of the fountain and told us to get out of the car. Sister Kathleen actually let us – a group of 16 year old girls – run through the fountain. I should probably do a blog post about life with the Sisters. I kind of miss them a lot.

That time I was a Sister

Oh yeah, and then there was this. That time I was a Sister in The Sound of Music – the only school production I was ever a part of because of soccer season. We once sang the mass parts for a First Friday mass. So wonderful.

I love this post. A lot. That is all. <3
