And I’m back again! Alright, alright, I actually got back Friday around 3:00pm, but reality didn’t set in until I got on this Amtrak train this morning to head to New York again. Later this week there will be plenty of posts about India coming up, but in the meantime, it’s greeting card Monday again. Oh, and if you missed these posts while I was gone you should check them out: how to create an awesome gift box, characters that I have cried over recently, and things to keep on hand to be a great last minute hostess.
Speaking of last minute things. Did I ever tell y’all that I really really stink at being on time for or about anything? I’m usually at least 7 minutes late for everything as a basis. Greeting cards are no exception. Between my Munich and Bangalore trips I had a wedding to go to. So I got back from Munich, worked two days in Philadelphia, went home to Connecticut for the weekend, then worked in New York for a week, and then went out to Allentown, PA Friday for a wedding choir rehearsal and the wedding on Saturday. There just wasn’t time in there to make a wedding card. So on the way out the door I threw everything in a box that I thought I would need to make this card.
Not just any box, my Phineas and Ferb lunch box. I love them a lot. AND the cute little boy from Love Actually actually does the voice of Ferb, which I think is super cool – he’s also 23 now (what?!).
My usual on-the-go kit consists of double sided tape, a scissors, 2-3 different colored pens, and a few texture elements. In this case my texture elements were my corner-rounding punch and the oil pastels.
Dear Kevin and Veronica, confession, I made your card in the car right before I walked into the reception. This is definitely not the first time I’ve done this. Maybe one day I’ll get better at doing things ahead of time, but I have a feeling that day is not any time soon.
And here’s the final product:
My favorite part: the rounded corners
The challenge: deciding whether to keep the Veronica & Kevin embellishment a rectangle or to round the corners
Does anybody else do all of their wedding cards last minute?
