In case you were wondering where I’ve been, the answer is trying to find time to send Christmas cards. Every year I get over ambitious, and this year was no different. If you’ve been following along with Chrystina Noel for a while you know that I put together a Christmas mix CD every year. Here are the ones from 2011, 2012, and 2013 (spotify playlist included in the last one). This year I decided that it would be a good idea to send mix CDs to people – some virtually, some old-fashioned. It turned out to be a process.
I bought the CDs on sale from Staples on Black Friday, I bought paper sleeves at Target, and I used washi tape to decorate the actual CD. Then when I finally took them to the post office they told me they were going to be $2.32 to mail after I told them there was a CD in the envelope. It only cost $0.50 to make – and it’s flat and underweight, so why would it cost $2.32 to mail it? After talking to a different post office man (who I didn’t tell that there was a CD in the envelope) he told me they would only be $0.49 to send. So I chanced it, and it worked. That whole fiasco set me back about a week in getting stuff out, and I’m still not done. I probably need to stop sending Christmas mixes though and start sending New Year’s cards. Never again.
I did decide, however, that if I am able to send everybody birthday cards next year I’m going to allow myself to send photo cards next Christmas, which will be a nice change of pace. Anyway. Without further ado, here is this year’s Christmas Mix CD. I looked for as many songs on Spotify as I could find and put them together for y’all, enjoy!
Now as for the rest of the day, it’s filled with construction audits and 7 fishes. I hope that y’all have a very Merry Christmas Eve – and stay tuned for a very special surprise tomorrow.
