I’ve been waiting to do this post for SO LONG. When I thought of it I was SO EXCITED. Then I had to wait to go home to Connecticut so I could take a picture of it… SO LAME. ANYWAY (how are you liking all those capital letters?), I finally remembered to take pictures this past weekend over Memorial Day. It’s one of my favorite pieces of my room.
Disclosure: please excuse all pictures in this post, I really did try my hardest, but with no natural lighting and really crappy artificial lighting it’s the best I could do.In middle school I discovered that you can put lipstick on mirrors and it comes off decently easily!! I wrote on mirrors with lipstick, I put lipstick on and then kissed the mirrors. I thought it was so much fun!
Later in middle school during a party I had (or was it high school?), my friends and I all became enamored with this idea and we all kissed the big mirror in my bedroom. I really liked this idea – although, I admit, after a while it kind of lost its appeal, I couldn’t really see myself in the mirror without having red smudges all over me.
In high school, I finally got smart. If I bought mirrors SPECIFICALLY for kissing, then it wouldn’t block my view on the bigger mirror. I went to Michaels and bought small square mirrors. This way everybody could have their own individual mirror.
Take a look at how it turned out!!

Some fun thoughts about this piece of art:
- The day that I completed the third row was SO GRATIFYING. You can easily look at yourself in the reflection of the mirrors.
- Mary Beth decided instead of lipstick she wanted to kiss it in chocolate syrup, it’s still there.
- Everybody wrote his or her name in eye liner next to his or her kiss.
- Sometimes I wonder if my kiss still looks like that – now that I’m all grown up and such (ha).
- My Lynn(e)s+* are all up there.
Take a look at some close up shots:

Which kiss is your favorite? (wow, how strange of a question is that? once I typed it I decided it was too good to delete though, so now you’re stuck with it)
*I can’t believe I haven’t told you all about my Lynn(e)s+ yet. I have two best friends from middle school – ACS & KK. I had a bunch of really close friends in high school – but CD & VTM were the two who were around most often. Ready for my fun fact? All of their middle names are Lynn(e). When high school ended I realized I had grown so much closer with a bunch of the other girls – whose middle names weren’t Lynn(e), and that’s where the little plus came from on the end :)
PS. Happy Birthday ACS :)
