Valentine’s Day this year, I met Aida for the first time.  Meet Aida:

Last week I went out to eat with Faraz (Aida’s dad), Nida (Aida’s mom) and Gaurav (Aida’s #1 adoring fan aka my boss) and I found out that the song “A Whole New World” calms her down.  So I decided that she needed her very own Disney Baby Mix.  Now, this isn’t toned-down version of Disney songs.  It’s the real Disney songs – just specifically chosen for a baby, which I probably spent too much time thinking about, I’ll be honest.  I figured out that the songs “Prince Ali” and “Friend Like Me” were probably too intense (man, what are we going to do with that Genie), I included more Mary Poppins songs than I would on a normal Disney mix (because what child doesn’t love Julie Andrews) and I realized that Rosie O’Donnell is just WAY too intense as Terk in Tarzan is just way too intense so I toned it down with Phil Collins and NSYNC doing their version.  I also added in Winnie the Pooh (no explanation needed), decided that Mrs. Potts (Angela Lansbury) should sing Beauty and the Beast, not Celine Dion and found out that the Circle of Life is actually written in Swahili (which I think I knew at one point in time, but then forgot).

Check out the final product, with lyrics book included so that her parents can learn the words:

What’s your favorite Disney song?
