Penn Avenue Eyewear

When I started working full-time, I started wearing glasses full-time.  These things were definitely directly related.  I wore glasses in high school for two years, but I think I was actually just not used to dealing with panic attacks yet.  I didn’t wear them at all in college (that’s the confusing part).  And the second I graduated and sat down at my full time job I needed to pull out the pair of glasses again.  I had gotten one new pair two years ago, but lucky for me, I actually won a free pair of glasses on my friend Jenni’s blog, Story of My Life from Penn Avenue Eyewear.  And goodness gracious was I excited about it.

It’s really funny that this is the only picture that we have together because she has a photography business and takes awesome pictures like this (if you like dogs, click that link).  And sometimes I take awesome pictures like this.  But I digress.  Oh, her middle name is Noel too.  I’m done now.

I was emailing Caitlin from Penn Avenue Eyewear, and she was just so incredibly nice.  Everything felt easy.  I was so worried because I needed to make an eye doctor’s appointment and I couldn’t get them the prescription for a while, but she worked with my (ridiculous) schedule and that was wonderful.  She also pointed out how it was cool that we were both in Pennsylvania (especially because I won on an Austin-based blog).

I went over to their website and chose 5 pairs that I really liked, and they sent them all my direction.  That was the fun part.  Here’s approximately how it went: I got the box while I was at the office, I went to the bathroom to try them all on, narrowed it down to two, and then spent 15 minutes going around to everyone’s desk asking which one they liked better.  Yes, there might be a direct correlation between work place productivity and Chrystina being in the office, but I prefer to think of it as a direct correlation between having fun and Chrystina being in the office.  The two pairs I had it down to were the Austin (in black/crystal lime) and the Lindsey (in plum/violet tortoise).

Here’s the fun part about that graphic I just created.  Doesn’t it look like I’m trying out different names in addition to different glasses?  I personally like Royale.

At the end of the day I decided on the Austin.

And sent them back with a nice little note on them that looked like this…

I have no idea if that’s normal or not, I admit it, but it seemed like it needed to be jazzed up a bit since I had chosen it as the winner.

Also, after telling my eye doctor that I won a free pair of glasses they sounded skeptical and told me to bring it in just to make sure that it was the right prescription when it arrived.  So I brought it in, and you know what, it was 100% correct.  Which was awesome.

Thank you again to both Jenni and Penn Avenue Eyewear!!
