A Break From Regularly Scheduled Content

Hi folks,

You were probably expecting another podcast episode this week. I've decided to take a turn from our regularly scheduled content to write a post about how I'm processing the news this week related to George Floyd and all of the #blacklivesmatter content.

I wrote the post, got to the end, and then immediately felt like maybe I shouldn't have done it. What was I worried about? Well, the same things I'm always worried about when these conversations come up - of being too ignorant, too privledged, and like I'm not doing enough to help. All of which are almost definitely true.

But then I looked back at the names of the people on this mailing list, and most of you are people I know in my everyday life, and I felt more inclined to share. I would be interested in your opinions on how I can be doing more than I'm already doing right now to support the #blacklivesmatter cause. (You know, sticking with the theme of just trying to be a little bit better than I am right now.)

I'm not claiming to say anything you haven't already read in the conversation, but maybe I've said it in a different way, or will spark a conversation that hasn't happened yet. Who knows.

Hope you're all safe and healthy and taking care of yourselves. This week continued another week of wtf is 2020. And while there were some bright spots, we definitely all still have some work to do.
