Episodes 8 and 9: Money Stories & COVID life

Whoa. Where did the last few weeks go?

(Hi, by the way. How are you? What a weird time.)

To make up for my hiatus I'm releasing two episodes. Partially to get back on "schedule," partially to not be a statistic (did you know that most podcasts average 7 episodes?), and partially because I felt that I needed to address the current state of reality.

Click to listen >> Episode 8 is about Money Stories - an interview with my friend Eugenie George. She's releasing a (physical) book this month called Our Money Stories: A Six Week No B.S. Holistic Financial Wellness Plan">A Six Week No B.S. Holistic Financial Wellness Plan. It's already available electronically. And I think it's a super important topic for anyone to brainstorm about themselves. What stories about money are you telling yourself? Where did those stories come from? It's only then that we can figure out how to move past them.

Click to listen >> Episode 9 is a solo show quick update on how life is going these days in COVID-19 life. It talks about systems and thoughts and goals of this time (they're not as big as you might think).

Podcast News:

  • In this episode, you learn a little more about why I dropped off the grid for a few weeks. Some of it was work related, some of it was the lack of technology setup to get the job done, and I think some of it has to do with the fact that we're in the middle of an international pandemic (so, you know, general shock).

  • I have one more episode recorded after this one to share with y'all, episode 10 about personality tests where I talk with my good friend, Success Strategist, Eryn Morgan.

  • I'd love to hear if there's anything you're interested in working on next. Especially during this super strange time. Personally, I'm going to need to spend some time journaling to figure out what I'm working on, if anything, right now. First things to the top of my head - how to handle cooking at home for every meal, how to promote yourself at the office, and how to raise kids while living in a City.

Self-Improvement Inspiration From the Week:

  • I wrote an article on LinkedIn last week called Planning online team meetings, work sessions, and happy hours. It's everything I've learned about planning Zoom meetings in the last month.

  • I've been using the time tracking app, Boosted, to help keep track of how many hours I'm working during the week. It is both incredibly useful and kind of sad to see the results.

  • One of my favorite (legacy) bloggers, Elise Blaha Cripe releases her Big Dreams Daily Joys journal this week. I bought a few for people, including myself, and can't wait to start using it. The description of this journal is: "This journal makes it easy (and enjoyable!) to accomplish your goals. Featuring simple-to-follow prompts for reflecting on weekly progress and setting attainable goals for the days ahead, these pages will help you accomplish your to-dos, make time and space for what matters, and avoid feeling overwhelmed."

  • I went ahead and scheduled a bunch of extra lessons with my lovely Spanish, Gloria, tutor from Episode 4 for the next few weeks (because she's great). Highly recommend working with her if you're trying to learn Spanish.

That's it for now. Stay safe. Stay well. I'm wishing all of you and your families the best during this time.I'd love to hear from you about how things are going.

PS. Just saw the format of the last newsletter, no idea how that happened. Hopefully this one is better for y'all.
