Episode 6: Being Healthier About Nutrition
Hi friends,
Thought I forgot, did you? Nope, just landed at the client site for the week. I've started carrying around clorox wipes with me and plan to buy a stash of them from CVS to keep nearby this week. The folks next to me also clorox-wiped down their seats before sitting down on the plane. There's one silver lining for you, camaraderie.
This Week's New Episode
In Episode 6, a solo show, I talk all about my current plans to try to be a little healthier when it comes to nutrition. There's so much about nutrition I have either forgotten or was never taught, and so (after finding out my insurance would cover it) I've been working with a nutritional counselor once per quarter to talk about my eating habits. So far, so good. I talk about what I've learned and my suggestions in case you decide to visit one yourself.
What's Up Next:
Episode 7 will be all about money stories. What they are. How to discover yours. And what you can do about it. This past Saturday morning at 9:00am I had a chat with Eugenié George, author of Our Money Stories: A Six Week No B.S. Holistic Financial Wellness Plan [link is affiliate], about her experiences interiviewing 30 women of color about their stories. (PS. Happy International Women's Day!)
Episode 8 will be all about personality tests. It was technically supposed to be about the enneagram, but Eryn Morgan and I went a little bit rogue. There's talk of Myer's Briggs, the Deloitte Business Chemistry test, the Kolbe test, and Strengths Finder. As far as we're both concerned, you can never have too many personality tests.
Thought-Provoking Self Improvement Conversations of the Week:
Saturday at a board game day party we had everybody at the gathering take the enneagram test so that we could discuss our results and our life fears. It pretty much made my day.
I listened to Season 1, Episode 1 of the HBR Women at Work podcast today called Make Yourself Heard, which really it home for me about women's speech patterns and how to be more assertive in meetings. Absolutely worth the listen.
Still working on my promotion pitch over here. I present on March 17. I've been talking with people, getting feedback, making changes, talking with people, getting feedback, making changes, repeat - and I'm almost happy wtih where I'm at. Now I just need to figure out how to memorize a 5 minute speech. Suggestions welcome.
Last week was a little better in terms of work-life balance. I'm hoping that after March 17 things feel a little bit back to normal again. As for this week, just hoping to check a few priority items off of my to do list. We'll see how this goes.
Let me know what you're working on this week, I'd love to hear about it in an email reply.
Don't forget to share the podcast with a friend if you're enjoying it. Thanks so much!
Best,
Chrystina
