Building a Website and Social Distancing
And it's Sunday again. Hi, all!
What a week in the world. Work has called off travel for the next two weeks, so I will be working from my home and pushing the limits on how loud I can blast Broadway music without driving my neighbors crazy. In my social distancing, I started to put together a new and improved website to go along with the podcast, but had some last minute technical issues, so I look forward to releasing that next week.
Podcast News + What's Up Next
I editted Episode 07 featuring Justin Shiels yesterday. I'm so excited for you to hear the conversation. (I also forgot to put Justin in my line up of upcoming episodes last week, hope you enjoy the pleasant surprise!) In this episode we talk about staying in touch with friends as an adult, the importance of male friendship, and intergenerational friendships.
Episodes 08 and 09 are recorded, and I'm looking forward to planning out what is going to come next.
Self-Improvement Of The Week
I managed to memorize my promotion pitch this week. Because we're all working remotely I spent the day getting my home office ready to be the background of the video conference. The best feedback I got this week on the pitch was that it should read like a story and sound like me. I ended up doing an entire rewrite of it at dinner on Tuesday night - it sounds much more like something I would actually say now.
The mindset of social distancing is hard to get into for this always on-the-go gal. I'm trying to put some goals in place and to tell myself that it's okay to cancel plans during a pandemic. Tips are welcome.
If you like to cook, I highly recommend this podcast from The Roux that talks about how to make a roux. They go into the history, how to do it, common errors, and how to fix your mistakes. So fascinating, I can't wait to listen a second time to pick up everything I missed.
I'm attempting to learn how to meal prep again. Please send all simple, delicious dinner recipes my way.
I hope you all have a great week! Stay safe, wash your hands, and enjoy some down time.
